Levno, together with Fonterra and NZX, bring you the results from the largest on-farm milk monitoring project to date. This report details the journey Levno and Fonterra have been on together to revolutionise milk quality through the introduction of cutting edge technology.
The analysis conducted by the NZX Dairy Insights Team confirmed that better quality milk was supplied to Fonterra, first by the introduction of Milk Vat Monitoring (MVM) through Levno's initial solution, and then again with the introduction of Levno's advanced 'Full Cream' solution.

ECONOMIC BENEFITS
BACKGROUND
Storing raw milk at lower temperatures whilst on farm results in a higher quality product and greater economic value for both farmers and processors.
Recognising the importance of this, Fonterra launched its Milk Vat Monitoring (MVM) project in 2019. A combination of smart sensors were installed on Fonterra’s 9,000 farm suppliers’ milk bulk tanks in New Zealand.
Following this, in 2021, Levno introduced its Full Cream solution; which includes a 24/7-365 human response service, direct to Fonterra's farmers. With Full Cream fully operational, Levno and Fonterra initiated a joint project to assess the impact of both solutions on milk quality.
